Old Dunfermline on screen

By Dunfermline.info - Tue, 5th Feb 2008

Dunfermline Heritage Trust presents a unique trip back in time. Wednesday 19th March 7:30pm. Carnegie Hall Dunfermline
Local historian Jack Pryde will show a selection of slides based on the “Edith May Collection” of images that are stored in Dunfermline Library during the first half of the evening’s entertainment. These will give a flavour of life gone by in the early twentieth century.

After the interval a selection of films from the Scottish Film Archive will be screened. This will include footage from Dunfermline Gala’s in the Fifties and Sixties when crowds lined the High Street and children marched proudly past landmarks such as the Regal Cinema which have long disappeared. Also included will be a short film giving a snapshot of life in Dunfermline in the Seventies.

Book early for this unique and nostalgic trip back in time. This a repeat of the show that sold out at the Carnegie Hall last October. It is generously sponsored by the Linklever Group.

Tickets £8 Concession £6. can be booked at the Carnegie Hall Box Office on 01383 602302.
