The ‘Bowhill Players’ are a multi - instrumental group founded by Fife poet and songwriter Willie Hershaw to celebrate and perform the songs and poems of the legendary Cardenden miner playwright Joe Corrie (1894 - 1968). Described by T S Eliot as ‘the greatest Scots poet since Burns’, Corrie wrote about the struggles of the mining communities in central Fife during the years of the General Strike of 1926. He became a world-famous playwright after he wrote ‘In Time Of Strife’.

The Bowhill Players have continued Corrie’s legacy with their acclaimed live performances and the stunning recording “Cage Load Of Men”. Tickets for the concert on Sunday 21st May in Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline are on sale priced £10

“There is huge heart to this show, and the closing rockabilly take of I Saw Joe Corrie guarantees you’ll leave with plenty to think about and a smile on your face.”
